An international archaeology team uncovers an ancient Nordic book buried deep in the rainforests of Colombia, a discovery that should not exist. Days later, the expedition is brutally attacked by an unknown force. Half the team is killed. The artifact vanishes.

Authorities blame the murders on the expedition’s project manager, citing mental illness and DNA evidence found at every crime scene. The case is sealed.

But Dr. Isa Torres knows the truth. She saw the evidence before it disappeared. She knows what hunted them. When she publishes her findings, she is ridiculed, discredited, and forced out of archaeology.

Everything changes when Dr. Loren Harland, a Senior Forensic Archaeologist, contacts her with proof of a nearly identical case in Norway.

Together, they trace the origins of the mythical Buse Man, following a trail of ancient symbols, bloodlines, and ritual into the forests of Scandinavia.

Then Torres disappears.

All that remains are two cryptic clues left behind in an abandoned shack near the Norwegian border.

As new disappearances emerge under eerily similar circumstances, Harland sends her closest colleagues to uncover what Torres found, what happened to her, and whether the ancient curse has begun again, and if it is connected to the unresolved case of a missing mother and her daughters.
